Dr Kate Lynch is a gastroenterologist and hepatologist and is Head of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Services at Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH). Her original medical and specialty training was at University of Adelaide and RAH. She then spent 7 years at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, UK, where she performed a clinical fellowship in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), gastroenterology and hepatology, as well as undertaking a clinical/ immunological lab-based PhD in Clinical Medicine at the University of Oxford focussed on gut-homing lymphocytes in primary sclerosing cholangitis and IBD.
Dr Lynch’s research interests include the pathophysiology and phenotype of IBD in PSC as well as the use of IBD biologics in PSC. She has published widely in peer-reviewed journals, and speaks at national and international meetings. Her lifelong ambition is to contribute to work to find a cure for patients suffering with PSC and IBD.
